I’m grateful for the hard and necessary work Good Jobs First does to put a price tag on America’s subsidy crisis. If they didn’t exist, it would be much harder to make the case for transparency, accountability and reform of harmful corporate welfare programs across the country. While our organizations may come at the issue from traditionally opposed philosophical and political directions, I have nothing but respect and appreciation for the Good Jobs First team. My experience is that they are tireless workers, passionate advocates and trustworthy allies who work hard as hell to do right by the American people.

I wanted to thank you for providing your expertise to our effort to reform and hold accountable corporate actors within Chicago's tax incentive system. The fact is a number of companies have betrayed the public trust, all while receiving lucrative tax incentives. Your leadership allowed us to formulate a revocation process that will be enforceable by law. I can't thank you enough for advising us on our strategy and helping us with the creating and amending the ordinance language. This could not have been done without your partnership.

Violation Tracker is filling the vacuum caused by the federal government’s refusal to create its own centralized database of corporate wrongdoing. It is the go-to source to identify the list of crimes and misdeeds for corporations, and is the basis for follow-on research and analysis. We use it ALL the time. Most notably, we collaborated with Violation Tracker on a breakthrough study on the collapse of corporate crime enforcement in the first year of the Trump administration.

Working Good Jobs First showed me that not everyone has to be a one-person army, that there are considerable resources available to help construct a cohesive narrative of the many insidious ways that Amazon is actively undermining communities across America....I can't say enough about how your efforts have inspired me. Your principled, compassionate, and informed approach to educating the public on what responsible development should look like is a noble legacy.

I am so happy to hear that Good Jobs First will be tracking the stimulus bill recipients. We just held two union wide zoom meetings today with our locals. One of the first questions was how to verify if our employers applied and are receiving aid under the bill. I immediately thought of your organization and emailed you while still on the call!
